Stampin' Up! UK Pinkies Blog Hop

Thank you for joining us on another Pinkies Blog Hop! We’re showcasing lots of gorgeous projects using products from the new Stampin’ Up!® Autumn/Winter Seasonal Catalogue. Simply use the buttons at the end of each post to keep hopping!

Being overwhelmed by the prospect of new crafting goodies is becoming a trend. I think I need help! But two bundles really caught my attention in the new Autumn Winter Seasonal catalogue from Stampin’ Up!, and one of them was the Star of Light bundle. You can’t go wrong with stars for a classic Christmas design can you?

I decided to make a shaker card, which also allowed me to use the beautiful Fancy Frost sequins. Even though the catalogue shows the Fancy Frost suite used for New Year projects, I think they are crying out to be used with stars and snowflakes. I also used ribbon from the Glitter Ribbon combo pack in the same suite, tied with some Silver Metallic thread.

Aren’t the sequins beautiful? It’s a pity that standing shaker cards up kind of messes up the effect! If you are putting glitter (or the new Mica powders we have in the new catalogue), it’s a good idea to use an Embossing Buddy on the inside of the window sheet to remove static and ensure that the glitter doesn’t just stick to the acetate. My Embossing Buddy was also vital in getting the clean finish with the silver embossed sentiment and stars, which are also in the Star of Light set.

I’d be lying if I said that the months from September to January are my favourite – I just love planning for Christmas. My problem is that it’s also my busiest time at school, so my plans often come to nothing. I will keep on trying though. Maybe this year I’ll get everything sorted in time…

Enjoy the rest of the blog hop!
